Chop Them Up
Slice the bagels as small as you can. I would recommend to lay the bagel flat on the cutting board and then slice them with a bread knife. So you do not get slices in the shape of an "O".
Place Them Carefully
Spray the cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray so that the chips do not stick to the pan. Arrange the bagel slices on a cookie sheet so that they are not touching. Note: This is especially important if the bagel have a sticky, sugary, or cheesy coating on the outside.
Spray & Sprinkle Them
Once the bagel slices are placed on the tray, spray them with non-stick cooking spray and then sprinkle them with any spices that you think will taste good. My favorites for this are:
- Garlic Powder
- Cajun Seasoning
- Italian Seasoning
- Bruschetta (After they are cooked, this is the perfect topping!)
Bake & Take
The best part of baking a bagel chip is that if you happen to burn them, they make great dog treats!
Bake one tray of bagel chips for about 20 minutes at 300ยบ F. Make sure that the rack is placed in the middle of the oven for best results. If you want to serve the chips warm, I recommend using some salad tongs to remove them from the hot cookie sheet.
Once they are cooled, store them in a plastic bag. Enjoy!
