I've been looking for a good backpack design that is the right size for me. Finally, I'm deciding to just make my own. It is all white canvas-esque material so that I can color it and draw all sorts of stuff if I get board of just cool white :) It turned out to be quite comfortable, big enough to fit my computer, small enough not to be bulky, and easy to carry and take off! not to mention quick to make! (about 1.5~2 hours) and cheap ($4 for fabric and webbing).

Simple pattern cut-out below!

Easy to sew together, just sew the sides together :)

Then, sew the webbing support frame inside of the backpack to help provide support for carrying the bag's books!

I sewed loops to the top flap to keep the bag shut. a caribiner will clip into the loops and clip to another loop underneath to lock it shut.

Add a pocket (or several).

Also, add webbing (or better) straps to carry it by and you are done!

Sew It Up!
