Back in Time – Make your wooden counter-clockwise clock

Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

With this kit, you can assemble a wooden clock running backwards.

When making this clock, you would learn the ingredients of a clock, and feel the possibility of wood.

Prepare the Stuffs

You need some 5mm wooden board, and a laser cutter.

As well as a clock, you can get it from an old clock.

If you don't have a laser cutter, or you just want a ready-made one, put hand on Back in Time.

There's some others needed:

  • circular tape × 4
  • hands × 3
  • quide guide × 1
  • white rivet × 8
  • inner hexgon screw × 8
  • inner hexgon spanner × 1

If you can't find a clock module that goes backward, please refer to this website:

The hands of clock is quite long for you to DIY its shape.

Cut them through Scissors.

However, please make sure that minute hand is longer than hour hand and shorter than second hand.

Make Time Flow

Rotate all hands to 12, and give the clock an AA battery to make time flow.

Yes, it flows towards back years.

Build the Body

Add rear board to front board with spacer support and pillar boards. Fix them with inner hexgon screws.

NOTE that do not make the screws too tight.

If the time is not that accurate, you can rotate minute hand to regulate, some kind like a grandfather’s clock.
