Baby Yoda (The Child)

Hi everyone!! Here I have a super cute crochet Baby YodA

• Mint green yarn (or whatever shade of green you would like to use to make him)
• 3.00mm crochet hook
• Blush
• Two big bead or button eyes
• Safety eyes
• Stuffing
• Brown fabric
• Beige fabric
• Light brown fabric
• Metallic silver spray paint or paint
• Grayish brown fabric
• 2 Coconut coir hanging baskets (Or some other circular thing which you can use to make the space pod.)
• glue gun
• embroidery needle

For this part as well as the rest of the body I used the mint green yarn.

R1. Start with a magic ring of 10 stitches (10)

R2. Inc around the 10 stitches (20)

R3. Do 5 inc, 5 sc, 5 inc, 5 Sc around the 20 stitches (30)

R4. Sc around the 30 stitches (30)

R5. Do 2sc, 5inc, 10sc, 5inc, 8sc around the 30 stitches (40)

R6. Sc around the 40 stitches (40)

R7. Do 3sc, 5 inc, 15sc, 5 inc, 12sc, around the 40 stitches (50)

R8. Sc around the 50 stitches

R9. Sc 4 times than inc around all 50 stitches (60)

R10. Sc around the 60 stitches (60)

R11. Sc 5 times than inc around all 60 stitches (70)

R12. Sc around the 70 stitches (70)

R13. Sc 6 times than inc around the 70 stitches (80)

R14-R23. Sc around the 80 stitches For a total of 10 rows (80)

R24. Sc 6 times than dec around the 80 stitches (70)

R25. Sc around the 70 stitches (70)

R26. Sc 5 times than dec around the 70 stitches (60)
R27. Sc 4 times than dec around the 60 stitches (50)

R26. Sc around the 50 stitches (50)

Then mark where you ended so that you can make his face by attaching the eyes, eyebrows, nose, a bump on his fore head, as well as his hair and ears.

For the eyes all I did was sew on two black buttons.

Once they were sewed on I used the glue gun to glue yarn to each end of the eyes so that he had eye sockets and his eyes looked more like Baby Yoda's wise eyes and so they also looked better attached to his head. I then added some blush to the yarn that is glued to the eyes.

Making the eye brows:
R1. Start with a chain of 13

R2. Dc in the 12 stitches (12)

Then fasten off leaving a tail for sewing and make one more

To attach the eyebrows all I did was sew them right above both eyes

Making the nose:
R1. Start with a chain of 5

R2-R4. Sc in the 4 stitches for a total of 3 rows (4)

R5. Sc around whole piece

R6-R7. Then sc around whole thing for 2 rows
Fasten off and leave tail for sewing

Then Sew it in between the two eyes and I the added some blush to the end of it.

Making the little bump on his forehead:

R1. Start with a chain of 5

R2. Sc in the 4 (4)

R3-R5. Sc for a total a three rows in found inc on both ends for each row until you get to 9 stitches

R6-R10. Sc in 9 for a total of 5 rows (9)
Then Sc around the whole piece and leave a tail for sewing.
sew to his fore head and then sew once piece of yarn down the middle of it.

R1. Chain 17

R2-R5. Sc in 16 for a total of 4 rows (16)

R6- 16. Sc in the stitches decreasing in one end for a total of 11 rows

Then Sc around the whole piece and fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Then fold the flat end of the ear over half way and sew it into place. I then colored the ear with blush and sewed it to the body. once you are done with one make one more!

Adding the hair:

For this part I used hot glue which I put on his head and ears and then I placed some stuffing on the glue so that he could have a little bit of hair.

Go back to where you left off on the head and don’t forget to stuff the head before you close it.

R27. Sc 3 times and dec all around the 50 stitches (40)

R28. Sc in the 40 stitches (40)

R29. Sc 2 times and dec around the 40 stitches (30)

R30. 1sc, dec around the 30 stitches (20)

R31. Dec around the 20 stitches (10)

Then close up the head and fasten off sewing in any loose tails

R3. Sc around the 20 stitches (20)

R4. Sc and inc around the 20 stitches (30)

R5. Sc around the 30 stitches (30)

R6. 2sc, inc around the 30 stitches (40)

R7. Sc in the 40 stitches (40)

R8. 3sc, inc around the 40 stitches (50)
R9. Sc in the 50 stitches (50)

R10. 4sc, inc around the 50 stitches (60)

R11-R20. Sc around the 60 stitches for a total of 10 rows (60)

Then fasten off and leave a long tail to sew the body to the head. *Don’t sew the body to the head until the legs and arms are attached to the body*

Making the l3gs:
R1. Start with a magic ring with 6 stitches (6)

R2. Inc around the 6 stitches (12)

R3. Sc, inc around the 12 stitches (18)

R4. Sc, Sc, inc around the 18 stitches (24)

R5. Sc, Sc, Sc, inc around the 24 stitches (30)

R6-R20. Sc in the 30 stitches for a total of 15 rows (30)
Here a added the safety eyes so that his legs can move but you can just sew the legs to the body.

R21. Sc, Sc, Sc, dec in the BLO around the 30 stitches (24)

R22. Sc, Sc, dec, in the 24 stitches (18)

R23. Sc, dec around the 18 stitches (12)

R24. Dec around the 12 stitches (6)

Then close up the leg and sew in any loose ends. And then make one more!

Making the toes:

R1. Start by making a magic ring with 6 stitches (6)

R2-R3. Sc in the 6 stitches for a total of two rows (6)

R4. Sc, Sc, Sc, inc around the 6 stitches (8)

R5-R6. Sc in the 8 stitches for a total of two rows (8)

R7. Sc, Sc, Sc, inc around the 8 stitches (10)

R8. Sc, sc, Sc, Sc, inc in the 10 stitches (12)

R9. Sc around the 12 stitches (12)

Then fasten off leaving a tail for sewing and make 5 more!

Then sew three of the 6 toes to each leg and you are done with the legs!

Making the arms:

R1. Start with a magic ring of 6 stitches (6)

R2. Inc around the 6 stitches (12)

R3. Sc, inc around the 12 stitches (18)

R4. Sc, Sc, inc around the 18 stitches (24)

R5-R19. Sc in the 24 stitches for a total of 15 rows (24)

Here a added the safety eyes so that his arms can move but you can just sew the arms to the body.

R21. Sc, dec around the 18 stitches (12)

R22. Dec around the 12 stitches (6)

Then close up the leg and hide in any loose tails

Making the fingers:

R1. Start with a magic ring of 6 stitches (6)

R2-R3. Sc in the 6 stitches for a total of 2 rows (6)

R4. sc, Sc, inc around the 6 stitches (8)
R5-R6. Sc in the 8 stitches for a total of two rows (8)

R7. Sc, Sc, Sc, inc around the 8 stitches (10)

R8-R9. Sc around the 10 stitches for a total of two rows (10)

Then fasten off leaving a tail for sewing and make 5 more!

Once they are all done sew three fingers to each arm and then attach the arms to the body.

Once the legs and arms are attached you can stuff the body and then attach it to the head, and you are done crocheting!

To make the coat I first cut a rectangle out of the light beige fabric that fit around Baby Yoda’s body. Then I cut two lines for where his arms would go through and made sure they easily went though the two holes. Then I attached the velcro so that the coat could be removable. I sewed the velcro on but you can glue it on instead. After that I cut two rectangles the size of the slits I attached them using the hot glue gun. I then lined the collar and the sleeves of the jacket with the light brown fabric using the glue gun. Now you are done with the coat and can put it on your Baby Yoda.

For this part I used the 2 coconut coir hanging plant baskets to make the space pod. To make them look like a space pod I first spray painted them with silver metallic paint but you can just paint them if you want. Then I glued one inside of the other so that they looked like a space pod. Once I did that I then glued the grayish brown fabric to the inside of the pod so it looked more comfortable for Baby Yoda to sleep in. Then you are done with the space pod!

For this part all I did was cut a square out of the brown fabric and then placed it in to the space pod with Baby Yoda on top. Now you are done with your Baby Yoda and have an amazing new creation to enjoy and a new member to your Star Wars family!!
