BUILDING a KEYCHAIN

In this project you will learn how to make a simple and basic keychain of your own desire. You will follow the instructions commonly used by 3d printing to set you up for making a keychain.

Introduction/inspiration
Before you begin, start brainstorming designs for what to put on your keychain
some design examples to consider:
- Braille w/ graduation year
- Personal name
- Pet Name
- Birth Year
- Legal name initials
Gather the Materials Onto the Workplane

- Open the tab "Geometric Shapes"
- click and drag the box onto the grid
- look at the picture above to see to guide you
Keychain Dimensions



Adjust the length to these dimensions
Length: 60 mm
Width: 20 mm
Height: 12 mm
Constructing Keychain Curved Edge




- Drag the cylinder onto the work plane
- adjust the height to 12 mm
- input 20 mm for the number of all circular dimensions
- Move the cylinder to the right side of the box
- put the left half in the box as shown in the 5th picture.
- Tip: When viewing, look at an aerial view to verify for a second time
- Click on both shapes and use the group command (note that the color will change to one solid)
- Tip # 2 Press shift to press both and group ( symbol of the triangle and semicircle)
Keyhole Tutorial


- After grouping grab the cylinder hole shape
- input the hole size to 7 mm x 7 mm
- modify the holes' height to 12 mm
- place the hole in the center of the circle and the box shown above.
- Use the pic above to align in the center
- press the "shift" key and combine both to make a hole using the group command.
TEXT TUTORIAL



- Scroll down to the same tab of "Geometric/ Basic shapes" until you reach "Text"
- Once you find the shape, drag it onto the grid.
- In the picture shown above in the first bar labeled text, you can input anything for your text.
- For example, on my keychain I wrote my name (Saahir) you can change the color as well
Tip: you can do anything, my design or anything else. - Once you're done writing a small text, raise it from the grid up to 12 mm (keychain current level)
- Tip #2: adjust the dimension to fit the keychain (pic 2 for example dims)
- decrease the keychain to mm and decrease the text as well to make it slightly above shown in the third pic a
