BTS - Talk Nerdy to Me Submarine

Materials:

  • 12 pieces of 6-inch pvc pipe
  • 2 pieces of 3-inch pvc pipe
  • 1 piece of 18-inch pvc pipe
  • 8 three way elbows
  • 1 t-elbow
  • 3, 2 feet wire
  • 3 switches
  • 3 engines
  • 3 propellers
  • 1 power supply

Step 1: Building the Base

To build the base you will need 4 three-way elbows and 4 of the 11 pieces of 6-inch pvc pipe. To start you need to get one three-way elbow and one 6-inch pvc pipe. You will stick one end of the pipe into the three-way elbow. once you do that put the other three-way elbow on the other end of the 6-inch pvc pipe, you will repeat this 3 more times.

Step 2: Building the Sides

To build the sides you will need to get 4 6-inch pvc pipes, next you will stick each one of them in the top of each three-way elbows.

Step 3: Attaching Three Way Elbows to the Top

To attach 4 of the three-way elbows you will need to put the three-way elbows on top of the 4 pipes that are already placed.

Step 4: Attaching the Pvc Pipe to the Three-way Elbows

To complete the top you will need to only get three of the 10-inch pvc pipes. you will attach three of the so there is only one space left to fill in.

Step 5: Attaching the Two 3-inch Pvc Pipes

You will need one three-way elbow and two 3-inch pvc pipes, then you will connect the three-way elbow to both ends of the two 3-inch pvc pipe.

Step 6: Fill in the Space

With the piece you made in step 5 you will need to connect that piece with the two three-way elbows.

Step 7: Attaching the Hook

You will need the 18-inch pvc pipe with that you will need to connect that to the elbow on the side.

Step 8: Attaching the Motors

To attach the three motors you will need 6 zip ties and electrical tape. Once you have that attach the side motors with the zip ties in a cross pattern only two zip ties are needed per motor angle the two side motors at 80 degrees. The back motor will face 180 degrees on an x-axis. once the motors are in place secure them by taping them with electrical tape.

Step 9: Soldering Your Wires

Now you cut some insulation the size of the pipe and cut it so you can put it around the pvc. Tape it all around so it stays in place.

You now connect the motors to the long wire you have red goes to one motor, green to another, and brown to the last one. On the other end of the wire you connect the switches and power supply. Solder all of the wires together let it harden and then cover them with electrical tape.

Making the Remote

Take a little piece of plywood and screw three holes for your switches, this will be the remote. Glue the switches in place and let dry.
