Setting Up the Frame

Take two of the six inch pipes and cut them in half vertically down the middle. Then take both of them and add a tee connector in the middle, where you cut the pipe. Repeat this step for the other side of the frame. Also take the two 12 inch pipes and add 8 inches of pipe insulation to each.

Build Upper Frame

Take the two 12 inch sized pipes and two of the 6 inch pipes and connect them with the four elbow joints.

Cutting the 15 Inch Piece

Take the 15 inch piece and cut it so you have a 12 inch piece and a 3 inch piece. (Make sure you leave a few extra millimeters for the blade width). Then, in between the three inch and the 12 inch pieces, place a tee connecting them with the open port facing upwards. When the two pieces are connected, add an elbow to both sides of the rod .

Add Hook to Bottom Frame

On the tee at the bottom of the frame, add the 2 inch pipe to the elbow and put a cap on it. If you would like to add a magnet to the end of the hook to collect obstacles, you should do so now.

Then Connect the Bottom and the Top

Take two 6 inch pipes and connect the bottom frame to the top frame using the T and elbow joints.

Take the 15 inch piece and cut it so you will have a 12 inch piece and a 3 inch piece. (Make sure to leave a few extra millimeters for the blade width). Then in between the three and 12 inch pieces, place a tee connecting them with the open port facing upwards. When finished, add a elbow on both sides of the rod.

Connecting Motors to Main Wire

Screenshot 2017-01-31 at 12.02.35 PM.png

You need to solder the wires together. The red wire from the motor will connect to one of the solid color wires and the white one will connect to the black wire from the motor.

Connecting the Main Wires to the Switches

Screenshot 2017-01-31 at 12.05.23 PM.png

First you need to get 1 of your switches and a 10 inch piece of wire you need to pick 3 colors and put the power and ground of both the wires on the 2 part of the 2x3 part of the switch

Cover Wiring

When you are done with all of the wiring make sure that you cover the wiring in electrical tape or heat shrink tubing so that it doesn't short when in the water.

Test the Motors

Screenshot 2017-01-31 at 12.10.17 PM.png

It is very important that you make sure the motors are working because when you put them in the water you don't want a sub that can't move.

To test the motors you need to make sure the power supply is properly connected

If the test fails go back through the wiring and troubleshoot.

Check Buoyancy

Put the sub into the water to see if it is buoyant. If the motor cannot push it down into the pool put water into the sub or, cut some of the pipe insulation off.

You're Done
