Zombies are a trend now a days, but what do they eat? BRAINS! Here is how to a some kind of cake pop that has a brain shape and decoration. Perfect for a Halloween party!

Making the Cake

First of all you need to bake a cake. The ingredients you will
need are:

1-1/4 Cups of All Purpose Flour 1 Cup of Sugar 1/2 tsp of Salt 1/2 tsp of Baking Soda 3/4 tsp of Baking Powder 1/2 Cup of Cocoa Powder 3/4 Cup of Water 1/8 Cup of Milk 1/4 Cup of Orange Juice 1/3 Cup of Vegetable Oil 2 Eggs 1 tsp of Vainilla Orange Zest 1. Boil the water, add the cocoa powder and stir well. 2. Mix the milk and the orange juice. 3. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl. 4. Add the rest of the ingredients (except the water with the cocoa powder) and stir until completely mixed. 5. Add the water with the cocoa powder and mix well. 6. Bake at 350ºC for 30-40 minutes.

PS.: You need to do the cake a day before.

Making the Ganache

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup of Cream

100g of Milk Chocolate

100g of Dark Chocolate

1. Dice the chocolate

2. Heat the cream, without it boiling

3. Pour the cream on top of the chocolate, and stir until the chocolate it is completely melted

Mixing Them Up and Shaping

Well in this step you will be doing some kind of edible play dough with the cake and the ganache.

1. Pulverize the cake.

2. Mix together ganache and cake. For every 330g of crumbled cake you will need 3-4 tablespoons of ganache.

3. Make the form and take it to the fridge for about an hour.

Tips:

- The mix must be like a play dough.

- Always save some crumbled cake, in case you add to much ganache to mix.

Making the Frosting and the Fondant

For the Frosting you will need:

100g of Unsalted Butter

100g of Confectioners Sugar

225g of Caramel

1. Mix the confectioners sugar with the butter in a electric mixer at medium speed until the mix color lightens

2. Add caramel and mix well for about 5 minutes

For the Poured Fondant you will need:

3 Cups of Confectioners Sugar

1/2 of Water

2 Tbsp of Light Corn Syrup

1. Mix all the ingredients in a pot

2. Heat it until it reaches 90ºC.

Making the Royal Icing and Decorating

For the Royal Icing you will need:

1 Egg White

250g of Confectioners Sugar (aprox)

1 Tbsp of Lemon Juice

1. Beat the egg white with the lemon juice in a electric mixer until it grows a little bit

2. Add the sugar and beat for about 3 minutes

For the Fake Blood:

2 Tbsp of Light Corn Syrup

1 Tbsp of Chocolate Syrup

1/4 Cup of Water

8 Drops of Red Food Coloring

Mix all the ingredients together
