This project is fast and easy. I try to make Big Boy Locomotive plastic model 1:87 from Revell and turned in to rusted locomotive. It’s look like metal and very cool. Let’s make it.

Supplies that you need to do “BIG BOY” project.

1. Revell plastic model , scale 1:87 (Any model that you want.)

2. Masking Tape, Metal iron paint, and rust activator.

Assemble Big Boy Locomotive and Apply Metal Iron Paint.

First I clean the model with alcohol, and begin to assembly the model. Make sure that, divide it into group that will be easier to put together later. The small pieces, I leave it attach to the frame and paint the metal iron paint and for the bigger part I use sponge dip the metal iron paint and apply to the model. I apply at least 2 times, each time allow the dry time. It should be dry, in order to apply other coat. For the coal, I masking tape it, it should be black, and the rest is rusted.

Apply the Rust Activator and Assembly Locomotive.

For the railroad track, I masking tape the log and rock. Then apply the metal iron paint to the railroad track. Next I paint the rust activator on the iron paint. Let it dry. Almost done. Then I apply rust activator to the locomotive and all parts. Let it dry. Next I apply decal on the side, and apply rust activator again at the same place. Then, I assembly the Big Boy locomotive. That’s done. It looks like metal model locomotive.

Thanks
