♥BEER CAPS EARRINGS♥
I made these earrings with Lagunitas beer caps.
They are really easy to make.
WHAT YOU NEED
YOU NEED:
- 2 earrings hoops;
- 2 jump rings;
- 2 beads;
- 2 pieces of copper wire (I take it from a electric cable);
- 2 beer caps (I found the Lagunitas IPA beer caps to work the better and the beer been really good! I tried other kind but the rubber behind didn't come off so easy or the color wasn't so nice);
- little hammer;
- round pliers;
- sanding paper (not in photo);
- nail or sharp file (not in photo);
- flat pliers.
OPEN CAP
Open the cap gently with the flat pliers.
REMOVE RUBBER
Remove the rubber on the back of the caps.
SHAPE CAPS
Give to the caps a nice concave pattern with the hammer.
If you have a round hammer is better.
SAND
Sand the caps with fine sanding paper, to remove all the color and rubber.
MAKE AN HOLE
make a small hole with a nail and hammer or a sharp file.
Sand the hole from the behind with sanding paper.
FLATTEN WIRE
Flatten a little section of the copper wire with the hammer.
INSERT BEADS
Insert the bead and make an hoop on the other end of the wire with the round pliers.
ADD JUMP RINGS
Add the jump rings in the holes and place the beads.
ADD THE HOOKS
Add the hooks in the jump rings.
DONE!
Done! A nice pair of recycled earrings!
