My family and I have been making these cookies for years. After making these cookies according to the recipe multiple times, I made some modifications to the recipe to cater the cookies to my specific  tastes. I am making this Instructable because of an assignment given to me by my English teacher.

First, set the oven to 350 degrees.

Then, get out the ingredients. The  ingredients are 4 sticks of margarine or butter at room temperature, 2 cups of brown sugar, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 4 eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 1-2 cups of all purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking soda, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon,1 teaspoon of salt (optional), 6 cups of Quaker Oats, and 2 cups of raisins.

Next, beat together the butter and sugars until it becomes creamy.

Now, drop rounded tablespoonfuls (or bigger) onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Then, bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until they are golden brown.

And finally, after they bake, let them cool on the cookie sheet for one minute and then you can move them on to a cooling rack.

ENJOY!
