In This Project, We are gonna make a circuit that controls the water flow of the tap that we connected it to.

The working of this project is, first the signal is sent from either an IR Sensor or a Foot Switch. The Signal is then Transmitted to the gate of a Mosfet. The Mosfet then turns on the Solenoid Valve that is connected to it.

It needs tow voltage levels, 12V for the Solenoid Valve and 4V for the Foot Switch and the IR Sensor.

Supplies

Compnents :

1. IRFZ44N N-Channel Mosfet. x1

2. 12V Solenoid Valve x1

3. 10K 1/4W Resistor. x1

4. IR Sensor x1

5. Foot Switch x1

6. Terminal Blocks x2

7. Push Button Switch x1

8. Power On/Off Switch x1

9. 7404 Not Gate IC x1

10. PCB x1

11. Male Headers x6

12. Female Headers x3

Circuit Diagram

The Connections Are Given In The Circuit Diagram.

Make Sure To Add A Flyback Diode At The Pins Of The Solenoid Valve.

The NOT Gate IC Is Used To Invert The Output Of The IR Sensor.

When Using A Foot Switch, You Need Not Connect The NOT Gate.

The Voltage Must Not Exceed 5V At The 4V Pin.

You Should Power The Circuit With The Rated Voltage Of The Solenoid Valve.

You Should Make Sure That The Solenoid Valve Is Capable Of Handling The Pressure Of Your Water Outlet.

And With All The Precautions Taken, The Project Is Complete!.

Reason for Making This Project..

I Used To Think About Water Wastage For A While. I Got The Idea Of Making This Project 2 Years Ago.

At That Time, I Was Neither Free, Nor I Have The Material To Make The Project. I Improved It Over Time, And Made My Finalised Circuit. But, This Is Not The End!. I Am Thinking Of Using The Same Circuit For Different Purposes Like An Automatic Hand Dryer. You Can Improve This Project I You Want. Thank You!.
