This project is about an Auomatic Fish-Food Dispenser using Adruino UNO R3 as a real time clock. As the project name implies, the device dispenses food to fish in an aquarium at pre-programmed intervals. This is home made device using discarded items like a solenoid valve extracted from a defective water purifier, Audio cassette case, etc.
I have been using this device for my home aquarium for over two years and find it very reliable.
I have used the following items for this project. Item wise Details are clearly explained in the video attached.
1. A wooden board ( 6 Inch X 5 Inch )approx.
2. An Audio Cassette Case used a Fish Food Container.
3.A water Solenoid Valve extracted from a defective Water Purifier. This is a 220 Volt/AC Solenoid Valve. The breakup of solenoid details are clearly explained in the video.
4. I have used a 220 Volt AC Thyristor Opto-Isloator Switch to activate the solenoid from an Arduino UNO R3 Logic interface. AC Thyristor switch isolates 220 Volt AC side and 5 Volt DC side of the Arduino board.
4. I have used Arduino UNO R3 as a Real Time clock to generate a series of pulses at per-programmed intervals.
5. These pulsed trigger the AC Thyristor switch and activates the solenoid , which vibrates the Audio cassette box used as a Fish food container.
