Automatic Dog Treat Dispenser
I love animal's, especially my dog Coco, but they can be a lot of work. I know feeding your pet is generally pretty an easy task but people’s lives can be busy! My hope with this project is to make peoples’ lives a little easier by creating a new, fun way for people to spoil their pets!

Note: The dog treat brand shouldn’t matter as long as they’re around the same size as the one I listed, if they are much bigger or smaller you might have to modify the design a little so it works properly.

All About the Base
Note: Make sure to wear the safety goggles during this part.
First, you’re going to use the saw to cut the very ends off the 36 inch one by two. This step is just to make sure the bottom is even and will stand up. After that, you take the wood and make four 12 inch legs.
Pro Tip: I made a mark on the miter saw stand 12 inches from the blade and used that to cut the legs to make sure they were the same length.
After that, you are going to use the circular saw to cut the 2 x 2 into four equal quadrants. Select two of the pieces for your base floor and ceiling. Next, place the four legs onto corners between the floor and the ceiling. Use the 7/64 drill bit to pre drill the places where the screws will eventually go in the center of each leg. When that is done, remove the top board, apply wood glue to all the newly drilled holes, put the top board back on, and use the T-20 star drive to screw in the 1 5/8 inch screws on each leg. Repeat this step on the bottom. Next, take the 3 1/2 Inch hole saw and cut a hole in the middle of the top board. Lastly, hot glue the 2 Lt bottle upside down to the hole and put the peanut jar lid on the opening as a cover.
Fabricate Solenoid Stabilizers
First, you are going to take the utility knife and cut the 2 Lt bottle just above the label all the way around. Try to make it as even as possible but it’s okay if it’s a little off.
(Optional - After removing the sticker from the front of the jar, use Goof Off and a paper towel to scrub off the glue that was left behind.)
Use the hole saws to cut the two solenoid stabilizers as shown in the diagrams above out of the M+M jar’s side.
Next, use the 7/32 inch drill bit and drill four holes evenly in the neck of the bottle as shown in the other diagram. Then, cut a slit on the smaller stabilizer so you can fit it on the bottle. Once, you have it on the bottle, right above where the cap would go, take super glue and glue the slit back together. When step 3 is done, hot glue the magnetic valves to the bottom stabilizer where the holes were drilled. Then copy the process with the larger stabilizer accept glue it on top of the magnetic valves.
Wiring the Relay
First, connect power supply negative to all solenoid negatives and the relay control GND port. Second, connect power supply positive to control board UCC port and the channel D (as in Dog) common port. Finally, connect the positives of all 4 solenoids to the channel D normally open port.
Final Touches
To finish the project, glue down the food bowl and the wireless relay where you see fit. Finally, tape the power supply to the bottom of the top board, put some treats in the bottle and test it out!
