This the connector that im using
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281275172265?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Im using these tools in the photo but this is the list :

time and patience
soldering iron
wire striper
electrical tape
lighter
wire cuter or needle nose
an helping hand tool...not completely necessary but recommended.

To open the headphones just pull out the ear pad and remove the four screws.

Wire Prep

I cut the headphone wire as close to the outside of the housing as possible and from the side i used a screw driver to slowly wiggle it out and pull the wire through.

Use the electrical tape to secure the wire from the monitor, without the tape they might break.

Use your wire striper to prep the wire and the lighter to burn off the breading material thats on the wire. Dont leave the flames on the wire for to long.

Tin and Solder

Tin the wire....not completely necessary cause the connector have holes but it a good idea. The helping hand is really handy lol...just use it to hold the wire in pace. Solder the wires to the connector. look at the image for wire placement. I attached an extra set of wires for future mod so disregard the gray wire you  dont need them.

Securing the Connector

There is an plastic plug where the headphone wire was, that need to be removed just use the needle nose or cutters to pull it out. Once the plug is removed the hole is a lot bigger than the connector tip, use a small piece of electrical tape and fold that into a small tube with sticky side out and wrap that around the connector tip. Push the connector through the hole and the tape should file the extra space and use the small nut that came with the connector and screw it into place.

Cutting Part of the Monitor Housing

Part of the housing need to be remove to make room for the connector,  without it it will not close. I used a wire cutter. Just be careful not to damage the monitor.

Closing the Heaphone

After everything has been cut and secured tuck the wires and close it. Be patient and aligned the monitor and put the screws bact in there place

Now time to do a final sound test. If all went well put the pads back on pat your self in the back and enjoy your more portable headphone.

Any question just post them and ill try to answer them.
