Assorted Butter Crepe / Assorted Butter Dosa
In this instructable, I have made 4 different types of crepe both savory and sweet namely Veg Schezwan Butter Crepe, Chicken Schezwan Butter Crepe, Chocolate Butter Crepe and Strawberry Butter Crepe. These crepes are made with rice and lentil, hence very healthy.I have used butter liberally because the taste it adds to this dish is awesome. Please try it :)
If you have kids at home, they will simply love the Chocolate Butter Crepe and Strawberry Butter Crepe. Crepes are called Dosas in India. These 4 crepes are famous as street food in India and everybody eats them with great interest and enthusiasm. If you ever get a chance to visit India, I would strongly suggest you try these. Yummy!!!!
Make Crepe/Dosa Batter
Ingredients for Basic Crepe/Dosa:
- Rice - 2 Cups
- Black Lentil (Urad) - 1/2 Cup
- Salt - 1.5 tsp
Method:
- Soak rice and black lentil in water for atleast 6-8 hours.
- Blend rice and black lentil to a smooth paste.
- Add salt and required water as per consistency and leave it over-night for fermenting.
- Once fermented, basic crepe/dosa batter is ready.
Initial Preparations:
- Make Tomato Chutney: We can use tomato ketchup. I did not have it at home so decided to make fresh tomato chutney.
- Ingredients:
- Tomatoes (chopped fine) - 1 Cup
- Garlic (chopped fine) - 1 tsp
- Paprika - 1 tsp
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Method:
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add chopped garlic.
- Add chopped tomatoes, paprika and salt.
- Cook on low flame for 5 mins.
- Tomato Chutney is ready. Keep aside.

- Ingredients:
- Green Pepper - 1/2 cup
- Carrot - 1/2 cup
- Onion - 1/2 cup
- Soy Sauce - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Method:
- Heat 1tsp oil in a pan on high flame.
- Cook all veggies along with soy sauce and salt for a minute so it is still crunchy.
- Keep aside.

- Ingredients:
- Chicken
- Pepper - 1tsp
- Soy sauce - 1tsp
- Oil - 1tsp
- Salt- to taste
- Method:
- Cut thin strips of chicken.
- Heat 1tsp oil in a pan on high flame.
- Add chicken, salt, pepper, soy sauce and saute chicken until it is cooked well.
- Keep aside.
- Ingredients:
Veg Schezwan Butter Crepe
Ingredients:
- Basic crepe/dosa batter
- Butter - as much as you wish. More the better.
- Grilled Vegetables
- Tomato Chutney
- Chicken Seasoning Powder (optional)
- Salt - to taste
Method:
- Place a crepe/dosa pan on medium flame.
- Use a laddle and spread the crepe/dosa batter in circular motion on the pan
- When the batter on top layer is little cooked, spread 1 tsp tomato chutney, veggies, any seasoning powder of your choice and butter on the crepe/dosa.
- Carefully fold the crepe and place on plate. Cut it into smaller pieces and serve hot with tomato sauce/mint chutney/coconut chutney.
Chicken Schezwan Butter Crepe
Ingredients:
- Basic crepe/dosa batter
- Butter- as much as you wish. More the better.
- Grilled Vegetables
- Grilled Chicken
- Tomato Chutney
- Chicken Seasoning Powder (optional)
- Salt - to taste
Method:
- Follow all steps we did for making Veggie Schezwan butter crepe. Add grilled chicken along with other ingredients on the crepe/dosa.
Chocolate Butter Crepe / Chocolate Butter Dosa
Ingredients:
- Basic Crepe/Dosa Batter
- Chocolate sauce
- Butter- as much as you wish. More the better.
Method:
- Almost same as Veggie Schezwan Butter Dosa. The only difference is , instead of the veggies, spread chocolate sauce and butter on the top layer of the crepe/dosa.
- Fold it in desired shape and drizzle some more chocolate sauce on top.

Strawberry Butter Crepe / Strawberry Butter Dosa
Ingredients:
- Basic Crepe/Dosa Batter
- Strawberry sauce
- Butter- as much as you wish. More the better.
Method:
- Almost same as Chocolate Butter Crepe, just replace chocolate sauce with Strawberry sauce.
