Futons are great for college or a guest room where you want the flexibility of having both a sofa and bed in one piece of furniture.  However, the directions can be a little confusing, so I thought I would put up some photos to help.

Step 1

Add the cross beams with the screws, tightening with the hex key.

Step 2

Using the four shorter bolts, nuts, and washers, assemble the sliding mechanism as shown.

Step 3

Put on the wider frame, attaching with four of the remaining bolts.  The numbers on the frame and the mechanism should line up.

Step 4

Put on the less wide frame in the same manner as the first one, just mirrored.

Step 5

Finally, simply put the mattress on top, then secure with the velcro strips on the back by wrapping them around the wooden beams.  Then slip the cover on and zipper it to connect.

Step 6

The futon has 3 positions: bed, reclined, and upright.  To change it, lift the wider (lower) frame until it clicks, then lower it back down to get to the reclined position.  Repeat the process to get to the upright postion, then again to go back to the bed position.

You're Done!
