Asian Flavored Quick Pasta
Add Asian flair to plain pasta with creamy white sauce, soy sauce and more Asian ingredients. This is my own version of pasta and I keep making it now and then.
Asian pasta can be on the table in less than 20 minutes. But to make it below 20 minutes you have to read through the recipe once and plan your things as said in the steps.
Ingredients
Preparation Time - 5 minutes
Cooking Time - 15 minutes
2 Cup uncooked Pasta
2 onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 Cup Green Bell pepper chopped
1 Tomato
2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 Tbsp Green chili sauce
1 Tbsp Tomato sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt as Required
White Sauce:
1/4 Cup All purpose flour
1/2 Cup milk
1 Tbsp Butter
Cook Pasta
Cook pasta according to package directions. When the pasta has boiled to your desired degree of firmness, rinse well under cold running water and drain. It would take about 7 minutes in total to cook and drain the pasta.
White Sauce
Meanwhile make the white sauce. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir in flour and continue to cook and stir until thickened and lightly browned. This would take about 5 minutes. Stir in milk until thickened, about 2 minutes more.
So the white sauce preparation takes about 7 minutes in total.
Cook It!
Now for the cooking part. Heat oil in a pan. Saute garlic, onion, green bell pepper and tomato. Saute for 3 -4 minutes till you find its cooked.
Beat egg well and pour it. Cook the egg. It would take 1 minute.
Add Sauces
Add in the sauces - soy sauce, white sauce, green chili sauce and tomato sauce. Add in the pepper, sugar and salt. Be careful when you add in the salt as soy sauce has good salt content.
Cook for 1 minute. Let all the sauces combine really well.
Add in the cooked pasta. Cook it together for another 3-4 minutes.
Asian style pasta is ready. Have it hot or cold.
