My wife recently got an adult colouring book (lots of fine detail, not the dirty mind type) so I wanted to make her a nice box

Materials and Tools

You will need a 24"×48" sheet of 1/4" plywood, I used birch some scrap 1x4 and edging.
The tools I used were my trusty band saw and drill press

Making the Sides

I started with 2- 12x14" and 2 12×10" pieces of plywood and drew a simple foot at 1 corner and half the foot in the Centre of the long pieces. when I was happy with them I cut them out, traced them to the other side and finished the cut. I then traced the feet to pieces of 1x4 and cut them out as well

Making the Box

I cut 2 strips of plywood 1/2" wide x 13" long, tapered the one end and glued them to the inside of the long sides 1/4" down from the top and 4 pieces 1/2" wide x 6" long and glued them down the sides of the short pieces. I also glued the other pieces from the 1x4 to the feet. I later glued plywood approx 1/2" square on top of the legs for strength and to support the bottom

Finishing

I decided to make a small box for the markers to sit inside. Some decorative edging all around, stain and polyurethane. The lid slides out to use as a lap table. If you like this instructable please vote for it
