Arduino Rubber Ban Shooter
The Rubber Ban Shooter is a kind of device I made that can shoot up to three rubber ban once it's load. The rubber ban is basically controlled by the motor. I make the rubber ban shooter mainly because there is some annoying insects that id flying around the house. By making the rubber ban shooter, I can get rid of the peasants and have some fun with it.
Supplies
A lot of cardboard
1 button
1 motor
1 mother board
10 wire
one 6 leg motor attachments
hot glue and hot glue gun
utility knife
rubber ban
1 portable battery
Driller
1 cm diameter drill head
ruler
Make a Shape of a Gun
I am going to use the cardboard to make the shape of the gun because it is the most easy access material. First, I am going to make a handle by curling up the cardboard to create a round shape and use the hot glue to stick it all up. You can customize the size of the handle because different people have different size of hands so make whatever makes you feel the best. After that, cut out six 30.5cm by 3cm pieces using the cardboard. Lastly, you need to make the aiming system. Cut out three triangular looking pieces and stick them together. the rubber ban will be holding on this part of the gun so you can add more hot glue on the front part of the aiming system so it doesn't break down so fast.
Make the Firing System (Part 1)
To make the firing system, you need to handle you make previously and drill a 1 cm diameter hole throughout the whole handle so the wire of the button can go through. Then take the button, let the wire go through the hole and and stick the button on the handle and that's it. As you can see in the picture above, my hand fits perfectly onto the handle although the button might seen too big. That is why the size of the handle varies.
Making the Firing System (Part 2) and Assemble
In order to shoot a rubber ban, you have to stretch out the rubber ban so the force can transfer from the motor to where it shoots out. In the step, I am going to illustrate how to attach the motor to the gun. First, Take two pieces out the the six 30.5cm by 3 cm pieces and cut down a small amount of cardboard so the "legs" of the motor attachment can fit. Don't make it too big or the overall structure is going to be fragile. Take the extra pieces you cut out and stick it on the side so the motor can stick properly onto the gun with being to loss or wobbly. After that, you stick the handle onto the long pieces of material and stick the aiming system in the front part of the gun.
Programming
This is going to be the program that spins the motor and shoots out the rubber ban by pressing the button.
