Apple Jam
Make homemade apple jam from scratch! Try this easy recipe and enjoy apples at their best- year round. This apple jam is delicious over homemade pancakes!
Ingredients
Apples - 2 kg (4.5 pounds)
Sugar - 1.5 kg (3.5 pounds)
Peel Apples
Peel and core 2 kg (4.5 pounds) of granny smith (or other acidic) apples.
Bake or Steam
Transfer the apples to a baking pan, and bake at 170 ° C (240 ° F) for about 20 minutes, until tender, or place in a bowl set over simmering water and cook until tender.
Puree
Blend in batches until smooth, and pass through a sieve.
Cook
Place in a large saucepan, add 1.5 kg (3.5 pounds) of sugar, and cook over high heat, stirring very frequently.
Test for Doneness
