This is a two in one recipe for delicious apple-cinnamon pie´s. You have the choice weather to use ready made ingredients or make them by yourself. Both ways are described.

What You Need...

Here is what you need to make the Apple-Cinnamon Pie´s

- 3-4 apples

- 1/2 cup / 100ml water

- 2 sticks / 200 gr butter

- 4 cups / 500 gr flour

- 2 tbs cinnamon

- 2 tbs lemon juice

- 2 cups sugar

- 1 tbs salt

The Pie Crust

First you make the pie crust. If you have ready made pie crust you can use it, but I prefer the self-made crust.

Mix the flour (4 cups), sugar (1 cup) and salt (1 tbs) together. Add the butter (2 sticks). While mixing it with a paddle mixer add the water. Make sure the dough is not too soaked. If it is just add a little more flour.

Now put the dough into the refrigerator for about 2 hours.

Apples

When the pie crust is in the fridge, you can start with the filling. Of cause you can use ready made filling. But this is a recipe for an apple-cinnamon filling which is better than ready made pie filling ;)

Peel the apples and cut them into slices. Put them into a bowl and add 2 tbs of lemon juice. Set aside.

Now put 1 cup of sugar, the cinnamon and a pinch of salt into a pot and let it boil for 2 min. Stir it the whole time. Let it cool a bit.

Puree the apples with half of the sugar-cinnamon sauce.

Back to the Pie Crust

Use half of the pie crust. Roll it out and then cut out circles. I made the circles with a big glass but you can make them smaller or bigger as you want. Instead of many small pies you can make one big pie, too.

Now drop the filling onto the pie circles.

Roll the rest of the pie crust out and cut it into stripes. Now put the stripes on top of the filling.

Use a baking brush to put some of the sugar-cinnamon sauce onto the pies.

If you have some sugar cinnamon left over, you can use it to make sweet pumpkin seeds. You can find it in my list of Instructables. Sweet Pumpkin Seeds.

Bake

Now bake the pie´s until they are golden. Oven: 200 degrees Celsius or gas 4.
