Anti-Covid Catcher Bag

I created the Anti-Covid Catcher Bag because I am student who knows how hard it can be to keep track of your mask. I see many masks littered around my town and it is a shame to see so much litter. I am 13 years old and I am entering 8th grade this fall.
With students returning to school, I wanted to create an easy bag that would hold hand sanitizer, a clean mask and a dirty mask in sectioned pouches. This bag is very lightweight so it can be worn around your neck all day to hold your supplies. You don't have to dig through the bag to access hand sanitizer. Anyone can create this bag if they have a piece of fabric, access to a sewing machine, ribbon and two plastic bags. I wanted to make this sewing project as simple as possible in hopes that schoolchildren could create their own if needed.
Supplies
Piece of fabric - 12 Inches By 14 Inches
Two Ziplock Bags
Ribbon
Small bottle of hand sanitizer
Sewing machine or needle and thread.
Cut a Piece of Fabric

First, you will need to cut a piece of fabric about 12 inches by 14 inches. You should select a type of fabric that you would make a face mask out of so it will be soft to wear all day.
Fold Over the Edge of the Fabric to Create a Neat Seam

You should fold over about a 1/2 an inch of fabric and sew on all four edges to create a neat seam. This will make sure your bag will not fray when you have to wash it.
Get Folding

Next, you should fold the piece of fabric in half and then you should fold in half again.
Sew Up the Side Seams

You should sew down the right and left sides of your pouch. After you sew up the side seams, only the top should be open and you can see the three sectioned pouches.
Cut a Hole in the First Pouch for Your Sanitizer

You should look at your bottle of hand sanitizer and cut a small hole in the fabric to allow the opening of the bottle to come through.
Sew on a Strap

In this step you will sew on a strap to your bag. Be sure to measure the piece of ribbon to make sure it goes around your neck and hangs in the appropriate spot. You will attach the ribbon to each side as shown. Be sure to back stitch as you attach the ribbon. You want this to be sturdy and not break.
Create Your Clean and Dirty Ziplock Bags

Take your two ziplock bags and label them clean and dirty. I used different color sharpies to write on mine. Then you should place the ziplock bag in the second and third pouch sections of your bag.
Decorate and Use Your Bag

You can decorate your bag or label it with your name. This would be helpful if you are making these for a family or a classroom because you won't get them mixed up. Enjoy using your new bag to help you keep your hands clean, store your dirty mask and keep a clean one handy!
