I made a portable laptop stand to test my idea for making functional moving joints for future projects. The stand here is made entirely out of plywood carved with a CNC mill and assembled entirely through joints, without glue.

1) Create a draft on Autodesk Fusion 360 to gain an idea of the general shape.

2) Using the rough design on Fusion, make the 2D outline of the parts on inventables.

3) Create a logo on Adobe Illustrator and upload it to the design.

4) Send to the CNC mill to carve and assemble.

For the joint: insert the smaller circular ring between the sides and connect it with a rectangular strip.

The design uses no glue, so everything can be connected with housing joints and mortise and tennon joints.
