In this Instructable we are going to be showing you how to paint a pumpkin featuring all 7 seasons of American Horror Story.
Gather Materials
-Red, black, yellow and white acrylic paint
- Paintbrushes
- Pen or pencil
- Fine black Sharpie
- Toothpicks
Divide Your Pumpkin Into 4 Sections.

Take a sharpie or ink pen and divide your pumpkin into 4 equal sections.
Paint Your Background.

Take your choice of paint colors and paint a base layer for the background. For ours, we alternated black and white except for season 1 and 4.
Outline Each Picture Lightly.

This step is optional. If you feel that outlines are unnecessary, skip to step 4.
We chose a drawing that was simple, yet clearly represented each season:
1(Murder House)- Leather Man
2(Asylum)- Black bleeding eyes
3(Coven)- Snake
4(Freak Show)- Tent stripes
5(Hotel)- Key
6(Roanoke)-?6 symbol
7(Cult)- Honeycomb/Beehive
Murder House

For this step, we did a red background and then painted the famous black leather man from season 1.
Asylum

After your white background has dried, take a small paintbrush and fill in the eyes. Now take a smaller brush if you have it and make small "tear" like strokes downward until you get the look you desire.
Coven
![IMG_6131.JPG](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FLL/HM0R/J9EGYUJ7/FLLHM0RJ9EGYUJ7.jpg&filename=IMG_6131.JPG)
Start by outlining your snake in white paint, and then fill the entire body. After the white paint has completely dried, take a fine tip sharpie or pen and draw a few scales here-and-there to add a little extra detail, as well as drawing the mouth and eye.
Freak Show
![IMG_9195.JPG](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FUZ/ZLQ6/J98RFKKP/FUZZLQ6J98RFKKP.jpg&filename=IMG_9195.JPG)
Take a small paintbrush and paint red and white stripes to resemble the circus tent. After this dries, take another brush and paint the title. You can also use a sharpie for this if you don't seem to find a paintbrush small enough. It may help to look up a photo of this to get the font correct.
Hotel

Start by painting your lips with red paint and a small brush. Now take a clean brush and paint the teeth white, as well as outlining them with black paint. Now take yellow paint and another clean brush and paint the key.
Roanoke

For this step we found a toothpick to work best in place of a paintbrush. Take your red paint and paint the "?6" Symbol. This one might be handy to find a reference picture for!
Cult
![IMG_7427 2.JPG](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FIL/LIIQ/J9EGYUKN/FILLIIQJ9EGYUKN.jpg&filename=IMG_7427 2.JPG)
For this one, we took white paint and painted a hexagon for a base. After this dried, we painted over it lightly in yellow. Now take a pen or sharpie and fill it in with smaller hexagons to resemble a honeycomb.
Enjoy Your Artwork.
