Hya!!!

Today I will show you how to make an aluminum foil tube that makes a magnet slow down. And then make it into a toy!!!!

First of all, you will have to duck tape both of the aluminum foil rolls, for them to not roll open while we are making this thing. After that cut the second roll in the middle (like in the photo) and glue the aluminum roll layers. Then glue the cutted aluminum foil roll onto the first aluminum roll and secure it with tape.

If you want to test it now, you will need a magnet. I got my one from a hard drive. Just unscrew it and take out the magnet (like shown in the photo).

Here is a video of how the magnet moves and the speed of its movement.

This is caused because, while the magnet passes through the tube, electrical current is created in the aluminum tube thereby creating a magnet, this creates an opposing magnetic flux to slow down the falling magnet.

Now on the Toy/cosmetics Part:

Cut the sides and the middle of the aluminum roll.

You can cut it with a knife, but a saw would be much faster.

Now we will tie a turk's head knot on the aluminum roll. Make an X on one side of the roll and pass the strand over the right side of the X and under the left strand. Now you will need to put the right strand over the left strand (the strands are on the upper X side). After you made that loop pass the strand (you passed through the X) through the loop (over the left strand and under the right one). Now make another loop, but this time put the left strand over the right strand and pass the strand through over the right side and through the left side. Now repeat the pattern until you finish the loop. After that follow the pattern with a strand, to make a second wave. When you finish the knot make it on the other side as well. Make sure they are connected with a strand.

Now in the middle just make a simple wrap around the roll. Make a loop on the roll and roll one side of the strand up the aluminum roll. When you finish wrapping the roll pass the strand through the loop that you made.

After this tighten up the loop by pulling the bottom strand.

Now glue the wraps to the roll. Then cut off the excess strands and burn the ends. Repeat this with the other one.

You are all finished!!!!!

This is a video of this toy, I hope you enjoyed it. Now the magnet still falls pretty fast, so if you want to make this I suggest getting a third or even a fourth roll. Or get a bigger magnet.

Good luck making stuff!!!!
