This Instructable will show you how to store string in an Altoids tin can so you can put it in your pocket and use it in the garden, camping or wherever you need it.

Materials:
Hammer
Medium thickness screwdriver
Altoids tin can
String

The Hole

You will need to hammer a hole through the right bottom corner of the tin can. You will do this by using the screwdriver and the hammer. I recommend doing this with the lid closed to prevent the little hinges at the back from breaking. There will be some "spikes" opposite from where the screwdriver pierced the lid. The string will get stuck in these and make a mess, so you can flatten them by opening the lid and hammering the spikes. Do this at the edge of a table to avoid the hinges from breaking.

The End

Now all you have to do is cut the desired amount of string and roll it in your hand. Then all you have to do is put the rolled mass inside the case. Remember to pass one end of the string through the hole, as shown on the picture.

And that is it! whenever you need string , you just have to pull it through the hole and cut.
