Altoid survival kits are classic projects, and are really easy and cheap to make. The only reason to not make one is lack of knowledge. Put them in your car, pocket, or anywhere else.

Supplies

Altoid Tin

Pocket Knife

Tin/Aluminum Foil (Tin foil has many uses, including signaling and cooking.)

Ferro Rod (https://www.harborfreight.com/magnesium-fire-starter-66560.html, $1.9)

OR

Small Cigarette Lighter

Duct tape

Straw

Penny/Button (Sucking on a penny or button makes you salivate, which can increase the time you can comfortably go without water)

Fold Tinfoil

Fold the tin foil to the approximate size of the magnesium bar.

Tiny Duct Tape Roll

Wrap duct tape around straw, making a small roll.

Build the Kit

Throw everything together, make it fit. (Every assortment will be different, so I can't tell you the best way to put it together)
