Alternative Leaf Switch Pinball Button (UPDATE Stl)

IMG005.jpg

This is my personal version of the "Leaf Switch" used in Virtual Pinball, to control the paddles.

Like the commercial ones, my version also has the long stroke and the feature, (by rotating the micro switch), to change the switching point.

The button dimensions are standard, so (theoretically) you could use only the switch support.

Pros: Low cost. Easy to find materials. Infinitely replicable.

Cons: 3D printer required. Thickness (like an arcade button). The feedback is not identical to the commercial version, (even if it is very close)

Supplies

3D Printer with PLA filament (color you prefer)

1x Microswitch (Amazon)

1x Compression spring (Ø9.5x19mm) aprox. (Amazon)

1x Screw M3x16 with Nut

1x Paperclip (wire Ø1)

Print Parts

Place all parts on the print bed as shown.

Use 0.4mm nozzle with the smallest possible layer (I used 0.08mm), also use supports.

The file "alt_leaf_switch_reg_tool_15mm" is used to adjust the position of the micro before mounting it permanently. It is designed for a Cab thickness of 15mm.

Assembly

The assembly is absolutely intuitive, so I don't think instructions are needed.

The paper clip should be cut to about 15mm and used as a cotter pin, after fitting it into the hole, fold the ends to prevent accidental release.

Also for the adjustment of the switch point, the attached images are enough.

If you have problems or questions, write in the comments, thanks.

I hope I did something appreciated.

Good projects. ;-)
