Almond and Walnut Cookies
There are lots of variations to the basic cookie. This recipe is easy enough to make with children and they can even lick the bowl afterwards because it is vegan.
To make the cookies you will need:
a mixing bowl
an oven
a mixing spoon
a blender
cookie sheet
flour (you can use white or whole wheat)
canola oil
baking soda
oatmeal
nuts (any nut will work, combinations of several nuts adds a nice flavor)
maple syrup, honey, or agave nectar

Preheat the Oven
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Make Oat and Nut Flour
Measure out one cup of oatmeal and one cup of nuts and put them into the blender.
Blend the combination to flour consistency.

Mix the Batter
In a mixing bowl combine the oat and nut flour with:
1 cup of wheat flour (all purpose or whole wheat)
1 teaspoon or baking soda
1 cup of maple syrup (or your favorite liquid sweetener)
1 cup canola oil
MIx the batter thoroughly.

Form the Cookies
Form the batter into balls the size of a walnut and put them onto a cookie sheet.
Flatten each ball with a fork.

Bake the Cookies
Bake the cookies for 12 to 15 minutes in a 375 degrees F oven.
When they are finished, the cookies should be lightly browned on the edges and crisp through.
