Supplies
You'll need hair color, developer, color bowl, hair dye brush, gloves, pin tail comb, and hair clips.
Draping the Client
Before doing anything, look through the scalp for open sores, wounds, or abrasions. Then, put a neck strip and a cape on your client.
Section
Brush out hair, then part hair down the middle into two sections and clip away.
Formulate
Use the manufacturer's direction when formulating; different brands call for different volume developers and portions.
Prep for Color
Apply gloves, then apply hair color to the section not clipped away around the hairline.
Color Application
As shown in this video, apply hair color in a straight line from top to bottom. If you get any on the client's face, you wipe it off as soon as possible.
Color Application Continued
Then, do the other side the same way. Then, let's process for the recommended time per the manufacturer's directions.
Shampoo
Move to the shampoo bowl, wash hair thoroughly to remove all the product condition mid to ends, then brush/comb out with conditioner in the hair and rinse the conditioner.
Style
Blowdry and style as desired.
