As an avid crafter I have many hobbies and even more craft supplies.Recently I have been reorganizing them and I came across a particular paper pack I love.I decided to create a card but not just any card - a pop up interactive one.I am back with another scrapbooking project!

Let's begin!

Supplies

IMG_20240628_103145438_HDR_AE.jpg
  • Stamperia Alice in Wonderland Paper Pac 8x8''
  • A ruler
  • A bone folder
  • Cardstock
  • A pencil
  • Craft glue
  • 3D double sided tape
  • A dotting tool
  • Scissors
  • Metal Charms - I used a clock and a key
  • Paper flowers

Create the Base of the Card

IMG_20240628_104506130_AE.jpg

Begin by creating the base of the card.

Take your cardstock of choice and cut a rectangle that is 15 cm wide and 30 cm long.

Once cut, score the length of the rectangle at 15 cm using a dotting tool and a ruler.

Fold the cardstock and run a bone folder through the fold.

The base of the card is now complete.

Make the Pyramids

How to create the pyramids

To add movement to this card you are going to make these pyramids. That's right - pyramids!

Take a piece of cardstock and fold it to create a triangle.Fold it again to make a smaller triangle.

Take your ruler and measure as long as you want your pyramid to be - I chose mine to be around 5 to 8 cm long.Measure from the top of the triangle and mark with a pencil both on the top and bottom.Connect the two dots.

This is the line you need to cut to have the perfect pyramid for your card.Make different sized pyramids - I made four.

Follow the video for more details.

Decorating the Front

Once the moving elements are done it's time to get creative.

Since the inside of this card is so interesting and there are moving parts I decided to use 3D dougle sided tape to create more dimension on the outside as well.

I chose the image of Alice where she opens a curtain - I thought it tied up with the theme of this card perfectly.

Cut a piece of cardstock slightly bigger than the Alice image to create a frame around it.Glue the Alice piece onto the cardstock.

The other two patterns I chose were with a card design.Cut the Black Club design paper slightly smaller than the card itself - so about 14.5 by 14.5 cm.This way there is a nice light blue frame.Use the 3D double sided tape to glue it down.

Next, cut an even smaller square of blue cardstock - about 14 by 14 cm and repeat the gluing process.

Proceed to cut the Red diamond paper and attaching it the same way.The size of it should be slightly larger than the Alice central image.

Finally tape down Alice peeking through the curtain to the cetre of the card.

We will be back to decorate it more but for now leave it as is.

Decorating the Inside

IMG_20240628_122217981_AE.jpg
IMG_20240628_122348618_AE.jpg

To decorate the inside of the card I chose an image of Alice and a pattern of all the card shapes.

Cut both designer papers into squares with dimensions about 14.5 by 14.5 cm.

Use a quality craft glue - smear some of it onto both papers and using another piece of paper distribute it evenly.Glue the designer papers and let everything dry before you move on.

Cut the Postcard from Wonderland tag and glue it to the bottom right so that there is a place to write down a message to the receiver of this card.

Gluing the Pyramids

IMG_20240628_130348048_AE.jpg

Before gluing the pyramids arrange them and decide where you want them to go.

As you can see in Step 2 each pyramid consists of four triangles.Distribute the glue evenly onto the first triangle of the pyramid and place it down to the Card Shaped designer paper.Apply glue to the fourth triangle and glue it to the Alice designer paper.Hold everything together for 10 seconds and when you let go you should have your pyramid glued perfectly and when you close the card it should be moving.

Repeat this process for the other pyramids.

Place the second one on top of the first one - they are the same size.Glue the third, larger pyramid slightly further on the right side and for the last one - turn it around so that the top of the pyramid is facing right.

Let everything dry completely before you move on.

Cutting the Cards

While the card is drying cut up the tiny cards that you are going to glue to the pyramids.

Leave a little bit of frame when cutting so that they look more put together.

I used my paper trimmer to cut these tiny cards. It is much faster this way but if you don't have one you can totally use some scissors or and X-acto knife.

Stacking the Cards Up

IMG_20240630_091903437_AE.jpg
IMG_20240630_091954841_AE.jpg

Use tiny dots of glue to make a tiny stack of cards.Make stacks of four, three or two - it's up to you.

Have fun and use your imagination.

Gluing the Stacks

Start gluing the stacks and single cards to the pyramids.

Keep Gluing

Glue the cards wherever you like - on the front on the pyramids or the back or even make them as if they are popping out of them!

When needed, cut some of the cards to make it look more realistic. You can display the back side of the cards as well as the front - the designs are beautiful.

Continue Gluing

IMG_20240630_100805245_HDR_AE.jpg
IMG_20240630_100225670_HDR_AE.jpg

Continue gluing the cards using the techniques from the previous steps.

Covering Up

IMG_20240630_102758909_HDR_AE.jpg
IMG_20240630_103030853_HDR_AE.jpg

This is not an essential step but since I am a perfectionist I decided to cover up the tops of the pyramids with the same designer paper so that everything looks perfect.

Since the designer papers are a bit thicker, use a piece of printer paper to mark how big you need your triangles to cover up the tops of each pyramid to be.

Next, cut the triangles out of the designer paper using the printer paper as a guide.

Glue the Card shapes designer paper on top of each pyramid so that everything is flawless.

Back to the Front

IMG_20240630_112532970_HDR_AE.jpg
IMG_20240630_112619544_AE.jpg

You can leave the front of the card as it is but why not add some embelishments to make it even more 3D and unique?

Using the same craft glue place the clock charm on top and the key at the bottom right of the card.

For a finishing touch add some beige flowers.

Curiouser and Curiouser

Curiouser and curiouser! Would you look at this card! It turned out perfect as if it came out of Wonderland!

Now there is nothing left to do but to admire your creation and hard work.Write down a beautiful wish and gift it to someone - at least that's what I am planning on doing.
