Aircraft Panel Clock - Casio MQ-24
I had a gap to fill in my glider's panel, and an old Casio watch lying around...
Supplies
You will need:
A Casio MQ-24 watch (cheap, available everywhere, reliable, and loads of different faces to choose from).
Four M4 thread-lock nuts.
Four M4 x (16mm + panel thickness) pan-head machine screws. Sorry Americans, you're on your own converting this one.
Two M2 x 4mm cap-head machine screws.
A 35mm (or 1 3/8", if you must) drill bit for the panel cutout.
A 4.5mm (or 3/16") drill bit for the mounting holes.
The STL files and a printing filament of your choice.
The provided cutout template.
Printing
Start by printing both the STL files. I used 20% infill, 3 walls, 0.4mm nozzle with a 0.2mm layer height. I used support on the back piece, but not the front. Print it however you like, I'm not your mother.
Dismantle the Watch
Take the back off the watch using a small screwdriver, and remove the white disc (keep ahold of it, mind). This video will help you out:
Remove the Stem
After this, you'll need to remove the stem:

Note that you don't need to press the lever to put the stem back in, and that once the watch face is out, you can put the stem back in.
Have some swearwords at the ready in case you bend the stem.
Remove the Face/movement
Once the stem is removed, lift the whole face out being careful of the incredibly delicate hands. Also, avoid my mistake and don't do this whilst eating a pizza, getting your minging greasy fingerprints all over the face of it.
Remove the Glass
Pop the glass out of the front of the watch. Again, fingerprints.
Install the Glass Into the Front Piece
Push the glass into the front of the front piece. If your printer is well-tuned, it will be a push fit. Don't use superglue, unless you want it to look like that Airfix Spitfire canopy you made when you were 9.
Install the Face/movement Into the Front Piece
Slot the whole face (remember, the stem should be back in by this point) into the back of the front piece, and place the white disc over it.
Attach the Back Piece to the Front Piece
Screw the back piece to the front piece using the two M2 screws.
Use the Cutting Template to Add the Clock to Your Panel
You'll have to work out the panel cutting yourself, as I'm laser cutting mine.
