This is a wind turbine that kids can make at leisure with things available around the house.

This is a multipurpose project which can be refurbished to make many other projects. Below are few examples

1. Display centrifugal force

2. Rainbow wheel card to create white color

3. Easy motor

4. Automation

Supplies

Paper

Card stock paper

Wooden skewer

Mark the base and find the center. Now punch a hole in the marked center. We are using a crude method here. We are using a compass and an eraser. You can use a punch too.

Connecting and Testing

I don't have image for connecting the top and bottom. You have to judge it from the image.

Take 4 strips of card stock and glue to the 4 corners of the top pyramid. Fold a very small part at the bottom and glue to the 4 corners of the bottom.

Pass the bamboo skewer through the bottom hole and hand the top on it.

Test it by blowing. It should turn freely and fast.

Stand

Make the stand by folding a card stock paper. Glue the eraser to a side. Poke the skewer in it and hang the top part on it. You can also add (glue) a straw to blow. Just that the straw should be aligned with the fins.

And you are done. Blow through the straw and have hours of fun.
