Afghan for the House

I did a year-long crochet along to make 2 squares a month. I made more than 2 a month and ultimately chose what squares I wanted to use. I learned a lot of new techniques and stitches and would love to do this again in the near future. MOOGLY is where you can find crochet along, the squares come out 2x a month and are FREE. Some have videos some do not but I would highly recommend doing this at least 1 time.

I used scrap yarn from my stash that's why mine looks the way it does lol , I used a J hook from this set pictured, a darning needle, scissors, stitch markers, and free patterns that came out 2x a month.

this is an example of one of the squares I had to do , I have never done a Jacobs ladder before and I thought it was going to be hard but the pattern and a video helped me and I learned it was not as hard as I thought.

Here I am showing you a close-up of the backward sc border that I did the whole way around the afghan. I really liked the way the border came out just with I would have made the border itself a little wider before I did the final row of backward sc.

My finished product! I like how it came out, and I am glad I went with the squares I did go with.
