Aero Props Hand Spinner for Pencils and Straws
Do you remember the hand-spinning propellors you used to play with as a kid? Now, enjoy the fun again with an attachable propellor to pencils. Simply stick it onto your pencil, spin, and watch it fly!
I attend Ridgewood High School.
First, download the 3D model using the file provided.
Make sure that it is scaled to fit the size of your pencil. Usually, the diameter is at least 5mm. You can print it larger, and fill in extra spaces with glue if needed.
Once printed, smooth out the blades and remove the supports. To reduce weight, print with 0% infill.
Glue or stick it onto a pencil. Place the pencil between your palms and slide one hand forward and the other back. This spins it, allowing it to take off. If too heavy, use a straw instead or adjust the model to create more lift.
If you choose to adjust the file, consider the angle of the blades, the length of the blades, and the shape of the blades. Using splines or filets in Fusion 360 can create a curved blade that will generate more lift. Be sure that your edited file still fits on your 3d printer.
