Adjustable Power Extension Board

The extension box for multiple power sockets I designed has some variations from ordinary ones. The size of adapters and plugs does create some problems while using ordinary extension boxes. In my design space between each plug is adjustable to an extent, So it can be used easily. Locking clips are provided for the lock at a position.

As the problem was identified, the primary step was to ideate different solutions. Before moving to 3D designs, imagination and sketching using paper are completed. The best solution to my problem is selected and 3D designing is started.

To design the 3D model in tinkercad you need to divide the model into standard shapes. The standard shapes are shifted between the hole type and the solid type and merged to get the required shapes.

The design solves the issue by adjusting the distance between plug points. The retractable tube connection between each separate plug box enables safety. The locking clip system in each box fixes the boxes when the extension is not required.
