Adeept Robot Documentation

I'm currently taking an advanced robotics course as a part of my major in college and as a part of it we had to build the adepts hexapod spider robot kit this is documenting me building it. For reference, if you want a professional guide look elsewhere this will be as brief as I can make it so if you don't mind go ahead and continue reading. also, this will not cover any of the needed codeing just building it as this is the part I feel I can do the best teaching this vs the rest.

also uploading on here is weird so the last image is the start of each step for the first 2 steps

Supplies

  • the adept hexapod spider robot kit
  • raspberry pi 4 (i used i gb model but i don't think the storage matters)

The Basics

here I took the blue small piece and plugged it into the blue board in one of the bigger slots. then I took the camera and unplugged it from the black strip and connected it to the blue board followed by screwing the board into the raspberry pi 4. I took the big piece with the hole in the middle (I forgot to remove the paper I fixed that later) and took some of the plastic bits from the bags with the servos and screwed them into it. then I took another one of the pieces that looks more like a plus and screwed it into another piece (most of the plastic pieces are used with servos later). I took another plastic piece and connected it to the top of a part of the robot that looked like an h. followed by taking some leads and connecting them to the plus piece.

Legs

take the robot piece that looks like an L and screw a servo into it. then take the piece that looks like a brick with a flat point and screw a plastic piece into it. take another servo and screw it into a square robot piece. connect them all together to form a leg do it 3x for the left one then do it 3x for the other legs but flip the parts around so it mirrors on the other side for the right ones. (this was the hardest part imo)

Camera + Lights

take the camera we unplugged and screw it into a robot piece then build the camera take some other parts and do something like you did to assemble the legs but much easier and then take the last leds and screw them into another robot piece.

take the battery and screw it into the bottom of the bottom robot piece and then take the piece with the hole from earlier and screw cylinder pieces into it and place the bottom on it and twist it into place. the building part holds the camera on top with the LEDs from the last step (I forgot photos from here until the end sorry) and connect them and the other LEDs together and plugs it into the board. take more cylinders and screw the camera into place turn on power and if all goes well the lights should turn on and bam your done if not try making sure you used the right image file that was what i messed up on
