Adding Toggle Light Switch to Ariens Deluxe
How to add a switch to control your headlight on a Ariens Deluxe.
I bought the toggle switch from a local automotive supply. It came with a rubber boot and is "waterproof".
You will also need soldering iron and solder, heat shrink tubing, electrical tape and zip ties, wire cutter/stripper.

Step One: Locating Spot for Switch and Drilling Hole
One thing to think of when locating a spot for your switch. Are you planning on adding other electrical accessories to your deluxe like bar warmers. (In my plans.) You want to make sure you have enough room to operate both switches with bulky gloves on. Once you have your spot picked out drill the hole for your switch. The drill bit you use should be just big enough for the threads to easily slide through.
Step Two: Cutting and Wire Connections
Locate the yellow wire (positive) near the headlight and cut it. Strip back the insulation on yellow wire and wires on switch about 3/4". Fit heat shrink over the wires and twist ends together for a dry fitting. You can also add a bigger piece of tubing to shrink over top both connections to keep it tidy.
Step Three: Soldering Connections and Shrinking the Tubing
Now just soldier the wires for a secure and definate connection. After they cool slide the heat shrink tubes over the connections (just hope that you cut the tubes long enough for full coverage, if not cover the leftover with electrical tape). Keep the lighter moving all over the tubing as you shrink it as to not burn it. Either have a bigger piece of shrink tubing on your wire to shrink over the whole thing or a quick wrap of electrical tape to keep it neat.
Step 4: Zip Ties and Done
Makes sure everything is tucked away and secure. Dont want the wires to be caught in any of the moving parts under the dash.
Hope you enjoyed my first instructable. I will be upgrading to a LED light and adding bar warmers in the future and will hopefully make instructables for them too
