Add Frame to Photo

Photoshop is one of the most popular graphic design software. So, this tool is the first that I will use to frame photos.

So, to add border to photo in Photoshop, you have to follow these steps:

1. Open the photo that you want to frame
2. Go to Image > Canvas Size and check the Relative box.
3. Set the Width and Height with an equal number (e.g. 100px). This will be the size of the frame.
4. Create a new layer called Frame behind the photo layer.
5. Fill the Frame layer with color white.
6. Add a Stroke layer style to the Frame layer.
7. These are the settings for the Stroke layer style: Size 20px, Position Inside, Blend Mode Normal, Opacity 100%, Fill Type Color, Color your choice)

There are so many ways to frame photos in Photoshop.

If you need a simple Photoshop photo border all you have to do is to hide the Stroke layer style.

With Photoshop you can create so many Photoshop border effects. And you can easily create your own Photoshop frames.

To make more creative Photoshop borders, use a Stroke with Fill Type Pattern instead of Color. Choose a wood pattern for example to make a wooden frame.

To create a Photoshop decorative border use fancy patterns and add other layer styles like Bevel and Emboss.

1. Click on the Create button to open the tool
2. Go to the Upload menu on the left and upload your own photo
3. Go to Elements menu > Shapes > Geometric and search for a rectangle shape.
4. Place the rectangle layer behind the photo and resize it to make a frame
5. Set the Color of the rectangle layer
6. Add a Stroke if you want more borders
7. Add a Shadow effect (optional)

Simple frames and borders are clean and elegant. But sometimes we want to add more creative frames.

Lots of people prefer to use premade borders rather than creating their own borders and frames design.

To add creative borders, these are the steps that you have to make:

1. Click on the Create button to open the tool
2. Go to the Upload menu on the left and upload your own photo
3. Go to the Elements menu > Frames and there you have over 100 online photo frames and borders

Choose decorative frames or pick a wood frame. You might have to resize the frames to fit with the size and ratio of your photo.

You can choose to frame photo in Photoshop which is the most easiest way to do it.
