Images of final designs showing alternatives. This is the first lampshade I made but there are endless possibilities for changing from the basic cube and square spirals.

locate spacer onto one centre peg of a spiral and twist 180 to locate it onto centre peg of other spiral. The twist also adds tension which holds spacers in place and creates an even twist. You may need to adjust some of the spirals as corners may snag on the other faces of the'cube'

a bulb which gives of heat can deform the acrylic and even be a fire hazard and are less energy efficient.
