In the dynamic landscape of contemporary technology, drones have swiftly risen to prominence, transcending their initial military applications to become indispensable tools in various fields, from aerial photography and surveillance to recreational flying. This project stands at the intersection of creativity and engineering prowess, aiming to guide enthusiasts and aspiring engineers through the meticulous process of drone assembly. Within this intricate web of wires, components, and precision, three fundamental elements take center stage: the propeller, the main chassis, and the skid. Each of these components is a vital cog in the machinery of a drone, influencing its flight dynamics, stability, and overall functionality

Before embarking on the journey of assembly, it is crucial to grasp the significance of the software employed in this endeavor. SolidWorks, a paradigm in computer-aided design (CAD), will serve as our virtual workshop. This powerful tool empowers designers and engineers to create, simulate, and assemble intricate 3D models with precision and efficiency. SolidWorks transcends the realm of mere drafting; it immerses users in a virtual environment where they can meticulously craft and analyze each component before it takes physical form. Its user-friendly interface and robust simulation capabilities make it an ideal companion in the realm of drone design and assembly.

In this project, the union of SolidWorks and the meticulous assembly of these components is not just a technical endeavor; it is an exploration into the artistry of engineering. As we navigate the virtual landscape of CAD design, we not only build a drone but also cultivate a profound appreciation for the intricate dance of technology and creativity. SolidWorks becomes the conduit through which ideas take flight, shaping the components that will soon transcend the digital realm to become a tangible, soaring reality. Together, let us embark on this journey of drone assembly, where the marriage of software precision and engineering ingenuity propels us into the boundless skies of possibility.

LIST OF COMPONENTS USED FOR DRONE ASSEMBLY

Our journey begins with the propeller, a pivotal component that propels the drone into the skies. SolidWorks, our digital design companion, allows us to dissect the propeller's intricacies, refining its aerodynamic efficiency and material composition. Through simulations, we strike a delicate balance between lift and power consumption, ensuring the propeller's optimal performance in various conditions. SolidWorks transforms the propeller from a concept into a three-dimensional model, guiding us towards an efficient and stable design that defies gravity.

Transitioning to the main chassis, SolidWorks serves as our architectural blueprint for the drone's structural core. Beyond housing electronic components, the main chassis ensures stability during flight and shields delicate internals. Through parametric modeling, SolidWorks enables us to experiment with different designs and materials, refining weight distribution for a robust and balanced structure. The software's simulation capabilities refine the main chassis, ensuring it not only provides structural integrity but also enhances overall aerodynamics.

In the final act, SolidWorks transforms into our digital sculptor for the skid – the drone's landing gear. We explore materials for impact absorption and weight distribution, vital for safe landings. SolidWorks facilitates a detailed examination of the skid's geometry, allowing us to fine-tune flexibility and strength for durability without compromising efficiency. As the skid takes shape in the virtual realm, SolidWorks bridges the gap between concept and reality, ensuring the drone lands safely and efficiently.

Throughout this assembly journey, SolidWorks emerges as more than a tool; it becomes our partner in innovation, translating ideas into tangible components. The propeller, main chassis, and skid, crafted within the virtual embrace of SolidWorks, transcend the digital realm to manifest as the physical embodiment of engineering excellence.

CHASSIS DESIGN

This is the Chassis design of our drone project which the steps to do will be given below as a detail view.

CHASSIS DESIGN:STEP 1

C STEP 1.jpg

Using an octagon as base draw a line with an arc and mirror it.

CHASSIS DESIGN:STEP 2

C STEP 2.jpg

Proceed to add fillet for smoothness, then use circular pattern for remaining 3

CHASSIS DESIGN:STEP 3

C STEP 3.jpg

Extrude the overall sketch, make sure every sketch is complete without error.

CHASSIS DESIGN:STEP 4

C STEP 4.jpg

Draw a circle at top and square at bottom on an offset plane from the extruded base.

CHASSIS DESIGN:STEP 5

C STEP 5.jpg

Then create a loft between the circle and square sketch to the main extruded base.

CHASSIS DESIGN:STEP 6

C STEP 6.jpg

Add final touches like holes to make easy assemble for skid and propeller later.

PROPERLLER DESIGN

PROPELLER.jpg

This is the Propeller design of our drone project which the steps to do will be given below as a detail view.

PROPERLLER DESIGN:STEP 1

P STEP 1.jpg

Sketch a circle then extrude it. This will be the base for our propeller.

PROPELLER DESIGN:STEP 2

P SET 2.jpg

Following by 8 identical cylinders attached at back.

PROPERLLER DESIGN:STEP 3

P STEP 3.jpg

Sketch a triangle at x-plane, then revolve it.

PROPERLLER DESIGN:STEP 4

P STEP 4.jpg

At the same plane, sketch foundation like this, make sure all 4 lines meets, ready to extrude.

PROPELLER DESIGN:STEP 5

P STEP 5.jpg

Extrude the lines to form a shape. Then use circular mirror option to create another 3.

PROPELLER DESIGN:STEP 6

P STEP 6.jpg

Add final touches of fillets to enhance structural appearance.

SKID DESIGN

SKID.jpg

This is the Skid design of our drone project which the steps to do will be given below as a detail view.

SKID DESIGN:STEP 1
