AHAAN & AYAAN
I have a habit of making customized Greeting cards. In this process, I wish to gift one of my Friend's kids the same & this Idea came to my mind. As you see both their names are rhyming AHAAN & AYAAN.
I came up with the idea of switching the single alphabet & make a floating Greeting card for them both simultaneously.
Supplies
For Ideas:
Initially, I used Autodesk Sketchbook from our daughter's Ipad for basic form & changes in the alphabet 'H' & 'Y'.
For Working:
Basic cardboard for backing.
Color paper - Blue/Aqua.
Pencil
Eraser.
Paper knife.
Plastic straw.
Black pen.
Glue to stick.
Basic Lines & Understanding
I tried various types of alphabet placement in between 'H' & 'Y' over Sketchbook.
Finally, I decided to have a smaller case of the alphabet to make the proper greeting card for both the kids.
Autodesk Sketchbook helped a lot to overlap layers & rotate them to crosscheck weather the purpose was served properly.
Final Card - Happy Kids
This is the final output of the card with both names simultaneously.
The elder one is Ayaan
&
The younger one is Ahaan.
The Game Changer
I used a small plastic straw to fix this flexible alphabet on the backing card. This Straw plays a major key role in switching the names over the card. It acts as an axis point to twist the alphabet.
First make a hole in the backing card, making the same size of the hole to the 'H/Y' alphabet & place the level barrier between both of them. Keep the straw in between & seal it with a hot air blower. As the plastic melts, it automatically creates the lock to the flexible alphabet and the backing card.
Finally the alphabet 'H/Y' can be rotated with the plastic straw acting as an axis.
Glimpse
This is how the final output of the card is made for visual understanding.
