Here's an easy and affordable way to make your own strap clamps for projects. These clamps are great for clamping glued projects.
A pack of 4 ratchet straps will make 4 strap clamps that you can use for strapping glued projects. It works out that the pack of ratchet straps costs the same as a SINGLE strap clamp giving you a huge saving against buying a ready-made strap clamp.
- The Smart Straps come in two sections, as you can see from the pics, with hooks on both ends.
- In order to make a strap clamp you need to cut off the hooks.
- With the hooks removed you can join the two straps using a needle and thread. I place the long strap between to two ends of the short strap and did a repeated running stitch.
Once joined, you can use as a strap clamp that can be tightened to hold together glued sections.
