A Hat for My Piggy Bank

I made a hat for my owl "piggy bank" because I can. I named him Wilson and even tho he's a boy I still made him a light pink hat. I think it looks adorable on him if I do say so myself. (: This was one of the first things I crocheted without a pattern. I so proud of myself! (:
In the Beginning

I used a size I or 5.5mm hook and worsted nber 4 yarn. I first made a slipknot leaving about a 4 inch tail and chained 4 and slip stitched to join to form a loop.
Not the Beginning, But Not the Middle

Then I single crocheted 6 the loop and slip stitch to join. In the next stitch I did a single crochet. Then the next stitch I did 2 single crochets. In the next stitch I did a single crochet. So the pattern for this is
stitch 1: single crochet
stitch 2: 2 single crochets
stitch 3: single crochet
stitch 4: 2 single crochets
and so on until the end of the round slip stitch to join.
stitch 1: single crochet
stitch 2: 2 single crochets
stitch 3: single crochet
stitch 4: 2 single crochets
and so on until the end of the round slip stitch to join.
In the Middle

I increased for the next five rounds using the same pattern which gave me 30 stitches total.
stitch 1: single crochet
stitch 2: 2 single crochets
stitch 3: single crochet
stitch 4: 2 single crochets
and so on until the end of the round slip stitch to join.
stitch 1: single crochet
stitch 2: 2 single crochets
stitch 3: single crochet
stitch 4: 2 single crochets
and so on until the end of the round slip stitch to join.
The End (:

After the fifth round i did a single crochet all the way around for the next 3 rounds. Once that was done I decreased in every fifth stitch, added a pom-pom and called it a day. So Wilson got his hat and so did Lilly ( the actual piggy bank).
