A Sustainable House for a Wetland Lover

For this project, I took it upon myself to make a Sustainable home in a Wetland Biome. I built this in Minecraft using my building skills I spent about 2 days planning and a week building and I am very proud of the final product.

Supplies

  1. Nintendo Switch
  2. Minecraft
  3. Pencil
  4. Paper

Research

So the first thing I did was some research. I was looking at designs for cool and sustainable homes as well as what made them sustainable. I decided I was going to use Solar Panels, Wool insulation, and thermal windows. I also decided to use a form of rammed Earth to build my house

Starting to Build

After I had completed my research, I decided to go into a world and try to do a test build. (Little did I know it was going to be the final product) I built a big wooden square and then made it into a map to make it look like rammed earth. After that, I put the maps into item frames and made my first sustainable building. This building would later be my kitchen/dining area.

Building a Garden

After I had completed the building, I thought that it was small and boring, so I decided to make a garden as a sort of central hub that would lead to the other two houses. I added an oak tree, some hedges, and a path. I also added rocks to make it look nice.

The Bedroom

After I had completed the garden hub, I decided to make the home habitable. So I added a bedroom. I made a nice looking bed with a carpet and two tables with lamps. Outside is a little seating area with a fireplace perfect for watching the sun rise.

Adding a Bathroom

After I completed the Bedroom, I was ready to create a nice looking bathroom. The outside may not be very appealing, but the inside looks amazing in my opinion. Its has a toilet, a nice rug, a bathtub with good drainage, 1 sink, 2 towels, 2 skylights, 3 cabinets, and 2 banners that look like mirrors.

Kitchen

I was determined to go all out on the kitchen after I had seen how good my bathroom was. So I did. The kitchen was built in the first building and I am very proud of it. It has a carpet, 2 stoves, an oven, a fridge, a table, 2 chairs, and a sink with a soap bar. I think I tried my best on this and am very happy with the final product.

Adding Extra Detail

By this point I was pretty much done with the home, so I decided to have some fun. I built a dock, an area around the home that looked like a wetlands biome, then filled it with fish.

My Setup While Building This

I was doing all of my work at my messy desk where I had some scrapped ideas, with a keyboard on top of my laptop and on my little Nintendo Switch. I enjoyed doing this project a lot and hope that I could win something.
