Before starting the assembly, it's essential to arrange all the materials properly. This ensures smooth workflow and prevents interruptions.

  1. Terracotta Pot (Inverted) – This will act as the heat chamber.
  2. Terracotta Plate – Base for holding the oil lamps or candles.
  3. Another Terracotta Plate or Bowl – Used for stability and aesthetics.
  4. Drill Machine – To make holes in the terracotta pot and plate.
  5. Masonry Drill Bits (6-8mm) – Specially designed for drilling through terracotta.
  6. Threaded Rod (Approx. 8-10mm thick) – For connecting the terracotta components.
  7. Nuts & Washers (Matching the Threaded Rod) – To secure the terracotta pot in place.

  1. Place the inverted terracotta pot on a stable surface.
  2. Mark the exact center of the base (now the top) where the hole is needed.
  3. Apply light pressure and start drilling at low speed.
  4. Keep spraying water on the drill bit to prevent overheating and reduce dust.

  1. Mark the exact center where the hole needs to be drilled.
  2. Attach a masonry drill bit (6-8mm) to the drill.
  3. Once the drill penetrates through, reduce speed to avoid chipping.
  4. Gently pull the drill out and inspect the hole.

  1. Take a small terracotta pot and drill a hole in the center (if not pre-made).
  2. Slide it upside down over the metal rod, positioning it above the flames.
  3. Secure it at the top with a nut and washer, leaving enough gap for air circulation.

How It Works

MAY_22_Bamboo Fountain3_Tanmoy.00_27_08_07.Still056.jpg
  1. The flames from the oil lamps heat the inverted terracotta pot, which then radiates warmth around the space.
  2. The design also creates a beautiful glowing effect, making it both functional and decorative.

This DIY terracotta heater and lamp is not just a beautiful piece but also an eco-friendly solution for mild warmth. It’s ideal for indoor and outdoor spaces, especially during festive occasions or cozy evenings. Whether you're crafting for ambiance or function, this project brings a touch of traditional elegance and warmth to your surroundings.
