A Perfect Postage Stamp Art Idea[Full Guide, with Picture]
Do you like to browse stamps from all over the world? Or do you have a lot of old stamps and want to reuse them?
Let's make a stamp world map!
In this tutorial, I will show you how to make a world map from stamps. Just sort the stamps and put them on the map. Of course, you can make other maps if you want. The method is the same.
This method is simple; the visual effect will be very nice if done properly.
If you have this idea, then come with me to make it.
Let's go!
Supplies
- A lot of postage stamps that you can buy from the post office or the store afterward. Or you can collect as many as used postage stamps, which is easier and cheaper.
- Envelopes or small zipper bags
- Templates from Lotta's website
- Printer and A4 cardstock
- Tape
- Glue sticks
Sort the Stamps
Sort the stamps by their country or continent of origin and place them in a labeled envelope or bag. If you are still determining where some countries/regions are, use an atlas to find them.
Print the Map
Download the template and print it onto an A4 card. Use our guide to join the pages by pasting them on the back. For easier handling, join overlapping pages to form countries/regions, but do not join the whole world.
Place the Stamps
Using our template as a rough guide, place the stamps from a continent or country to create their basic shape.
Paste the Stamps
Paste the stamp into its final position once you are satisfied with the design.
Connecting the Map
Now join all the completed parts together to create the entire world map.
Congratulations, it's done!
