A Mini Vacuum for Tiny Messes

This is my DIY mini vacuum, and it can clean up tiny messes, such as dust. I made this with reusable materials, such as cardboard and empty plastic bottles, as well as the use of a DC motor.

You will probably have all of these materials at home except the electronics. Since I didn't have any super glue in my house, I used electrical tape. I also didn't have any soldering iron, so I had the use the tape to help keep the circuit together.

Anyways, let's get into the making of it!

Here are the supplies:

A plastic water bottle

Cardboard

A DC motor, a switch, a battery pack with batteries, and wires

A straw

A fan (optional)

Electrical tape

For this simple circuit, I used a DC motor, a battery pack, and a rocker switch. You can solder them together, but since I don't have a solder iron, I "hooked" the ends of the wires to put everything together. I also used electrical tape for extra reinforcement.

You can use any sort of plastic water bottle for this. Cut about 1/3 of the bottle.

I got a plastic fan, and I trimmed the sides with scissors to let it fit inside the plastic water bottle. After that, I cut a piece of cardboard into a circular shape and cut a hole inside the fit the motor. In order to keep the motor at the correct place, I reinforced with tape.

For the nozzle, I cut a bendable straw, and then stuck it inside of the cap of a bottle, which I drilled hole into using a scissor. I used tape to reinforce it. For the filter, I used a tissue , then used another piece of circular cardboard, cut the middle, and taped the tissue to one of the sides.

First, screw on the cap, and then place the filter down, and then get the motor in there. You can tape your battery pack and switch to the paper bottle. Boom! You have your vacuum!
