A Cup Holder for Thin Cans

My name is Kato Van Meenen. I’am in the third high school. It's my first time doing an Instructables. And I'm from Belgium.

And I have a problem. If you want to drink something in the car. I drink a fanta, for example, but it's a thin long can. And in the car the can holder is made for thick cans. And then you have a problem. If the car starts driving, then you can't lose your thin can. If you don't use a cup holder, you can also use a container. Only if you have an open cup holder. And I'm going to solve the problem. I'm going to make something so that the long thin can is fixed in the cup holder and stands still. I'll show you how I do it.

First, you need to make sure you have a tinkercad account.

If you have a tinkercad account, you can get started. Go to the menu bar and pick a cylinder from the basic shapes.

The cylinder must have a height of 8 cm. A diameter of 7 cm.

To get the perfect dimensions, it is best to set the accuracy to 0.25 mm. You can also fill in the dimensions.

Then, you should take a transparent cylinder. This will create a hole.

The transparent cylinder must have a height of 7.8 cm.

And a width of 6 cm. Then you must make sure that this transparent cylinder is in the middle of the fixed cylinder. You must not let the transparent cylinder reach the top. You must make sure that it is a box.

Maak vervolgens in de derde stap een rand. Dit zorgt voor de afwerking en maakt het gemakkelijk te verwijderen. Pak de rand uit de menubalk. De diameter van het gat is 8 cm.

U kunt de dikte kiezen. Mijn dikte is 2 mm. Zorg dat het mooi rond is. Je kunt er ook voor kiezen om geen rand te hebben.

Now it is time to print it. Press export. And put it in .STL . Then you can print it out.

You delete from the 3D printer and then you can test it.
